Limited Editions
A limited edition is artwork with a limited amount of reproductions. It provides credentials stating the size of the limited edition and the placement number out of the edition size. For example, you could see 12/250; whereas the 250 represents the number of prints it is limited to (edition size) and the 12 represents its placement in the edition size. Once the artwork has reached the end of its limited edition size, it is considered sold out and no more can be reproduced! This is an excellent choice for obtaining an exclusive piece of artwork as it typically has more value than an open edition. Also, when a person can not obtain an original, the limited editions are the next best choice in terms of rarity and value.
