A day before Sabree's birthday (May 5th), she along with other artists were invited to a cozy event in SunCity, SC. SunCity is a large community within Hilton Head, SC. Sabree met with the Mayor of Beaufort and the guests enjoyed the art and viewing of properties.

Sabree traveled to her home town in Lake City, SC to participate in an international contest by ArtFields. There were 3 prices: top prize of $50,000, jury prize of $25,000, and people's choice prize of $25,000. Unfortunately, Sabree didn't win, but she did win the support of the community and her large family. This contest indeed helped to bring her family closer together with genuine support and love.
Thank you everyone!!! Also, a special thank you to the Mayor for his support and the Hair Gallery venue! To see who won visit http://www.artfieldssc.org/ . Lake City is undergoing new changes and is rebuilding the community. If you are in the area, stop by and tour the city of the late Ronald McNair, the first black astronaut! The Harvey Gantt Center of Charlotte, NC invited Sabree's gallery of the Arts; CP Pastries; Author Ronald Harrill; and local musicians for their first "Spot Light" Event. It was a beautiful day and many people came out to support these local businesses. Below is one of Sabree's paintings "Why the Moon Smiles" reconstructed into an edible cake. This limited edition was offered in a contest for the guest arriving at the event. Congratulations to the winner!

Sabree is hiding in the tent! This was the area where we saw a dolphin. Yay!! Sabree is talking to Allen Fireall's Son. Allen Fireall is a famous gullah artist and he has won the "poster artist" several times. Artwork enjoying the Hot-Shady day. Our tent was located in front of this pier and we got to see people sail away. It was nice and they had a lot of fun. Vendors are putting the finishing touches on their booth. These people had some nice stuff. I got an original picture done in banana leaves and a lion carved out of soapstone. Then I got some handmade jewelry. Sabree got some really nice shoes! There was a lot of really, really good lemonade. I got to taste fresh squeezed lemonade and strawberry-lemonade. Yummy! Nice cargo van! There were many vendors here. Lots of clothes, body oils, and shea butter! Beautiful!! The weather was pretty for the most part. We were there for 3 days. We will be back! The drive to and fro was worth it. This is our second time at the Gullah Festival! Last year was great and we did even better this year. The community and plenty of out-of-towners came out to support us and other artists. The first day we were outside enjoying the beautiful weather. The second day we were inside because of weather changes. Either way we enjoyed Gullah stories, music, food, desserts, and other forms of art. During the festival there was a month long exhibition at the Art's Cultural Center in Hilton Head. Sabree's originals were excepted into the show and placed into a competition to be awarded the "poster artist" of the year. Find out who won at www.artshhi.com !!!
A very wonderful one day show supported by the community, the organizers of the show, and sunny (but chilly) weather. The Harvey Gantt Center was the host of this show and sponsored by Wells Fargo. People could attend this free event with free access to the Mint Museum and the Harvey Gantt Center. This show was very good to the vendors who were mostly artists. They took care of us by offering help if we needed it, water, hot drinks, and even food. There was a constant flow of live music from different genres, performances, radio hosts, and the Mayor. Thank you so much for everything!
This show had a lot of music and support from the community. We met a lot of great people who continued to inspire us and help us in our business.
New Juneteenth Celebration location in North Charleston, SC. We were able to go and hope that their new location of having the celebration continues to grow!
Wow!! So many people blessed us with networking opportunities as well as supporting our efforts to tell the story of the Gullah people. We even discovered new art talent at the show!! Thank you everyone for visiting us at the show!!!
